MES ZIGZAG type
Fujikura Chute is used for car ferries and other types of vessel with high deck board to allow general passengers or crews to escape from the vessel safely and fast in case of accident to board life-saving equipment on the water (it can also be used for vessel with side slanting of 20° and longitudinal slanting of 10° on both port and starboard side)
Besides that, it is also used to transfer to life-saving equipment from a high position from the water surface such as from bridge building on the sea, or oil cleaning.
Features
Compared to sliding type, it is less affected by wind, and safe to drop from short distance. The structure is simple, and it is small in size, so inspectiion is easier and more economical. It can fit to the side deck board of all vessels, and can be removed safely from any position.
For Fujikura, escaping the vessel using a sliding platform type on the water is considered to be board the life-saving equipment, so the biggest feature of Fujikura Shoot is its high capacity in drop removal using zigzag type.
It can be operated from its fixed position by one person only (it does not require any preparation to drop).
(1) Drop route is protected by a protector. Rather than exposed drop route, it has a structure of double safety covered by the protector. Because of a protector, it is not affected by wind that may twist the drop route. The protector will prevent the drop route from getting burnt due to external flame or heat. (Use of non-flammable material) The protector will also cushion any shock in case the person that fell comes into contact with the side of vessel. The protector will not separate from the drop route even during bad weather.
(2) The Chuter will keep a certain distance from the side of vessel due to the protection shape. By keeping the Chuter at a certain distance from the side of vessel, the shape of the drop route can be maintained during bad weather, and impossibility to drop due to twisting will not happen.
(3)The structure makes it difficult for water to enter into the platform. The floor has a lower air room base that is divided into two chambers, the distance from water surface to the top of the air room is long, so entry of water from outside is not easy.

Safety Precautions
- Chuter can maintain its function, and there is mandatory inspection, but there will be deterioration over the years. The condition of deterioration depends actually on the storage location and the navigation condition, however, according to the study and research by relevant vessel equipment inspection organization, generally speaking, after 8 years of use, it will deteriorate fast.
- Chuter of more than 8 years that has passed inspection may be used but, in light of the specific use purpose that emphasizes on safety, it is recommended to replace it between 8-12 years.
